Pregnancy: What If We Have a Boy?

Emily and I have chosen to not find out the gender of our baby until our baby is actually born.

And while all we want is a healthy child, it does seem that boys and girls can potentially each come with their own upsides and their own challenges.

To try to get ready for whoever is headed our way, I decided to talk through some of my hopes, feelings and fears about having a child of each gender — starting with the gender with which I’m most familiar:
