BRENT STOLLER

A hopeful, (sometimes) humorous take on the traumas of infertility and pregnancy loss.

Laughter is the Best Medicine

Starting this Friday, Menopur, Follistim, Lupron and the like will help Emily prepare physically for the next IVF egg retrieval.

But to ensure both of us are in a good place emotionally, we’ve turned to a more natural medication: laughter.

Each night, our viewing lineup now consists of comedies, a combination of funny movies and an iconic TV show (more on that in an upcoming post).

This is something we’ve done previously during the trying-to-conceive process with great success, even when — especially when — we didn’t experience great success with the pregnancy stuff. And that’s kind of the point.

Infertility, pregnancy loss, IVF — these things often are anything but a laughing matter.

Yet because they can be so stressful, and so heartbreaking, and so incomprehensibly overwhelming, sometimes the best (or only?) way to deal with them is to laugh.

So…which comedy was up first for us? Find out here:

Peak Matt Damon.
Salty and sweet. I’ve been converted, and I’m not going back.
